In fact, most of the multiplexes today are using these 4K monitors only for the display of movies. This in effect means that the display that you receive by using these monitors is comparable to the picture quality of a movie theatre. However, the difference in the quality of the pictures becomes apparent only when viewed from a close distance. Therefore, these monitors are actually more suited for smartphones and tablets, since we view the screen of these devices from a very close distance. Even when installed on a desktop computer, these monitors can give some really amazing results.
Disadvantages Of These Monitors
Experts in the tech field, however, feel that buying these monitors is not a very smart choice, though, especially if you are buying a TV with a small screen size. Another factor which stops people from going in for these monitors is their high prize since they are available mostly in big screen sizes of 82 inches only. Although there are smaller and cheaper versions of these monitors available in the market too, but these cheaper versions are not very good. This is because the backup support required by these monitors is not effectively provided by the cheap versions and hence the picture quality gets compromised anyway, making the investment in these monitors pointless. Also the content available for these monitors is not much and therefore does not justify the investment cost.
Various researches have been going on these 4K monitors and it is hoped that soon some very interesting and additional options and advantages will be added to their use. Also the price of these monitors is also expected to go down further by the end of this year. Hence, switching over from your current monitor to this monitor is presently not recommended.
